Say you have been thinking about a build. The project isn’t pressing. You think that an added room or feature could spruce up your home. At this point you may be curious as to what kind of architects are around, what kind of work they do, and prices too. Searching through the web can be daunting. If your searching for a smaller niche like architecture, then this should help you find a good selection of architects in your area and their websites.
We will start our search looking for an architect in Brainerd Minnesota. Why Brainerd? Because that’s where we are stationed, actually Crosslake, but Brainerd is just a few minutes away. Follow along!! The first step is to find your market.
1. Search in Google ‘city name + architect’.
Chances are you will get more actual architects in the business listings with this format.
2. Next to the search bar click “Advanced Options”
Use the region, date, and blog search filters to find out as much as possible. When we searched for ‘Brainerd Architect’ and filtered it by posts created in the last week, the results were mixed, but a couple interesting pages show up. You can filter by blog too. Using a blog search you can check to see which architects have a blog.
3. Use Real-Time Searches for New Results and Comments.
This is a new one. You can use Twitter, One Riot, and Scoopler to see what people are saying about architecture, architectural firms, landscaping, or whatever else you desire. For now, architecture is not largely discussed on these sites. In the future that will change.
Sometimes Google reviews and Yahoo Answers don’t provide you with the knowledge you need. If you are looking for comments or reviews for architects in your area, don’t be afraid to call the architect themselves. Ask for references or testimonials and be on your way to your brand new build, providing years of happiness for you and your loved ones.
